Lucious Love Box Goodies

Following our amazing success at Taste of London, we geared ourselves up for even more fun (if that is possible!) at Lovebox and Citadel festivals in Victoria Park. With big headline names such as Rudimental, Snoop Dog, Bombay Bicycle Club and Ben Howard, the La di da team were chomping at the bit for the 17th July to quickly come around. With our awesome retro silver airstream hired (check out the pictures if you don’t believe us) and our cupcake flavours decided, preparation began for an amazing weekend of festival life!

Teaming up with Candy Skull vodka shots allowed us to be even more creative than usual with the cupcake flavours. Although the decision of which flavours to use was hard – Candy Skull has so many amazing vodka flavours – we finally decided on their Lemon Explosion and Berry Burst vodkas to generously add to the butter icing! The alcoholic kick in the icing and additional fruit flavourings in the sponge made some truly magnificent cupcakes! Across the weekend we introduced other flavours including our Tia Maria cupcake and lest we not forget our famous cocktail cupcake – the renowned Mojito! Just like that La di da’s ‘Boozy Cupcake Shots’ were born! Fun fact, we don’t put any alcohol in our sponges; all the boozy goodness is in the icing to ensure none is lost in the baking process!

But we must not forget the trusted staple flavours of Oreo and Salted Caramel, which were freshly made everyday, quickly flying out of our air streams hatch! Lovebox and Citadel festival also saw the return of one of our newly launched flavours, Popcorn, which took centre stage on a towering cake stand. Topped with a lavish serving of either toffee or plain popcorn – La di da’s personal preference being toffee – and served in authentic cinema style pots, these newly launched goodies were a real festival crowd pleaser.

Delivering cupcake goodies to the stars backstage, and even seeing – and selling to! – the amazing Jessie Ware in the main stage crowd, made the weekend even more worthwhile. I think the whole team’s weekend was made when seeing how much fun La di da’s Director had across the three days, especially the group excitement to see Ella Eyre! Getting all glittered up by the fab girls at Miss Lippy everyday and indulging (maybe a little too much!) in the amazing festival food on offer – our favourites would have to be the renowned Buddha Bowls – La di da immersed itself into the festival spirit, while managing to sell out every day!
